Student Centered Classrooms
The heart of a successfully differentiated classroom is that it is student centered. A student centred classroom, as the name suggests, is a place where students not only have a voice, but that voice is listened to and changes are made according to what that voice says. This could mean changing up your approach to a topic, using different methods to present, or brainstorming a new style with your class. Ideally this will include a mixture of whole class, small group and individual instruction. The most important aspect however is getting to know your students. You cannot have a student centered classroom without knowing the students you’re centering your class around.
